Hi,

I recently ran nessus against some win  2000 servers.

I did not enable any of the "DoS" tests, but the IIS4 server was down.   Users were unable to login to access their email.

Apparantly the scans affected the rpc services on the servers.

The Nessus tool has been very useful in my vulnerability assessment reviews and I don't want to loose credibility.

Question...

Is there any known plugins that can bring down IIS servers?
Is there any know plugins that can disrupt rpc services?
What is the recommended settings in NESSUS that could avoid the above?

I will appreciate your help. Please feel free to point me to links that has instructions on scanning with NESSUS without bring done the network.

Thanks...
