I have not seen most of the resulting pages, but the ones I have seen were
web server probes. We use a large number of HP printers with jet directs
that are not centrally managed. Due to DHCP and the IP scanning approach it
isn't easy to exclude the printers from the scans. I was hoping to avoid the
issue through the safe scans/don't scan printers plugin -- and in fact
thought it was working until this morning when I got a call. Apparently
despite numerous requests for reports of problems no one was reporting what
they were seeing...

I haven't taken a look at the nasl for the "don't scan printers" -- is there
an issue with where the printer exclusion occurs (that is, certain scans
have already been done)?

The plugin you reference picked up on the telnet server in the jetdirect.
Unfortunately I don't at this time have access to the printed material to
determine if this is the one or not.
