At some point I apparently changed a setting in nessus such that I no longer get a summary of open ports in the report, even when I run a scan with all plugins enabled. I've combed through the options and can't find anything. The closest I've come is when using NessusClient the Services Detection (Second Pass) plugin reports that its dependency (Service Detection) is disabled.
My scans are normally commandline and the reports are saved in nbe format. I still get service identification per vulnerability reporting, but not port detection. What I mean is I get results like the following: results|xxxx.xxx.xxx|xxxxxxxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx|microsoft-ds (445/tcp)|10400|Security Note|the whole message But I don't see lines like: results|xxxx.xxx.xxx|xxxxxxxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx|microsoft-ds (445/tcp)||| (At least, as best as I can remember that is what the port detection lines look like). I have made various changes to configuration files but as I don't know when these stopped appearing I'm really not certain what change is responsible. And as noted I've looked and am just not seeing an option to correct this. Any ideas?
