Sadly the error message doesn't tell me what file it's trying to open,
so I can't easily see what the problem is. Any clues?
it's likely that it's trying to open $prefix/etc/nessus/nessusd.rules
and can't because this directory hierarchy does not exist.
The file /security/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusd.rules exists
Does the setting for 'rules' in nessusd.conf point to that file?
Alternatively, does "nessusd -s | fgrep rules" show "rules =
/security/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusd.rules"? [You may need to tweak this
a bit if your PATH variable doesn't include the directory where nessusd
is installed.] If not, adjust the setting in nessusd.conf and restart
nessusd.
