Actually, if a family is fully enabled, then the new plugins in that  
family are enabled by default. Otherwise, if you start to disable some  
plugins in given families, or if the family is disabled, then new  
plugins in this family will indeed be disabled.

Because the DNS lookup is done by plugin#12053. The client itself has  
no notion of host name, IP, etc...

I need to check this. That's probably because a reverse lookup on the  
IP does not work, but I'll get back to you on this one.
