Hello Sutapa, Nessus can perform different types of audits, and the performance and topology of your network can effect the scan times. Tenable has some customers that can scan 4000 hosts in 6-10 hours with one scanner. We also have other customers that use multiple scanners and cut this down to around an hour. I'm sure the list will post their thoughts as well and if you scan that archives, you can find more info.
Nessus does not perform scheduled scans. However, there are a variety of commercial and free tools to do this. Tenable's Security Center will load balance scans, manage your credentials and provide role base access to the results.
