You could try using the builtin validator/parser included with the
compliance check plugin. On a unix system you had do

/opt/nessus/bin/nasl -t TARGET_IP compliance_check.nbin

This should report errors in your .audit file

Subject: audit file validator

is there a tool to validate audit files that you've constructed? In my case,
i've taken the xp CIS one from the website and removed some things that we
don't check for and fear that i might have horked up my formatting :)
