It's hardcoded, because the ucd-disk implementation
uses a fixed array to hold the internal data.
('Cos it's easier to code like that!)

It's presumably hardcoded to 50 because that felt
like "a lot of disks" back in 1997 (when it was
raised to 50 from 10).

I don't think there's anything particularly special about
this constant - it's just used to control the size of the
internal data array.

It's not like the hrDevice or hrStorage tables, where I
tried to be a clever git, and encoded extra information
within the index values.
  Edit acconfig.h, run 'autoconf' to regenerate the configure
script, re-run configure and re-compile.
