Which version are you trying to compile? It should be 5.1.1 or higher. 5.1.1 and 5.1.2pre2 compile fine with MinGW. Are you trying to build from MAIN in CVS? I haven't tried it lately. Did you read the MinGW section in README.WIN32?
Yes. I'm building the CVS version if I'm not mistaken. At least I used the "checkout -r V5-1-patches" command to cvs. But I'm not sure that
really worked.
It should work.
Are you guys really patching old software? If not, why can't the latest branch be the default in CVS checkout?
The default branch is what will become 5.2. Patches are applied to both 5.2 and 5.1.x to fix problems. New features are only added to 5.2. Until 5.2 is released, newer versions of the 5.1 line are released to fix bugs.
The win32 folder only used for MSVC. It is not used at all for MinGW or Cygwin.
Then I'd suggest renaming it to the less confusing MSVC directory.
Or maybe move everything to net-snmp\win32\msvc to allow for other win32 specific files in the future. Mike?
