HI, This is a frequently asked question, and I believe is is well covered with the correct answer in the FAQ for the SNMP News group (comp.protocols.snmp), and the book "Understanding SNMP MIBs".
For the so called "generic traps" (which there are EXACTLY 6), the value returned in the enterprise field of SNMPv1 traps is the OID value that is returned as the value for scalar object sysObjectID. This is defined in RFC 1215.
