But your question wasn't quite the same.
Srini appeared to be asking about using IPv6 as a *transport*
mechanism, for transmitting SNMP requests to and from the agent.
As Robert replied, that's supported using
configure --enable-ipv6
You seemed to be asking specifically about the IPv6 MIBs - i.e.
management *of* an IPv6 network, rather than management *over*
an IPv6 network.
I'm sorry that no-one responded at the time, but you're probably
fairly accurate with your second comment - the original IPv6
MIB code was provided by somebody else (who's no longer around,
as far as I know), and most of the core developers tend to work
with IPv4 rather than IPv6.
Quoting Robert again:
