Hi,

Thanks for you information. I managed to solve the previous issue by export the MIBS="".

I have encountered another issue which is regarding the snmptrapd command.

I was trying to execute this "Snmptrapd -P" command to get the trap log however, it gave me the following message and stop halfway for a very long time.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ychoo]# snmptrapd -P

Warning: -P option is deprecated; use -f -Le instead

2004-10-29 10:01:57 NET-SNMP version 5.2.pre1 Started.

2004-10-29 10:14:02 NET-SNMP version 5.2.pre1 Stopped. (this was forced by me – “ctrl+c” )

May I know what is the problem basically. FYI, I did set my agent trap port to 162 and trap address to the manager IP.

Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,

Yen Mei

Try running 'snmptranslate -IR -Dread_config:init sysContact' to see what

mibdirs the tools are using, and make sure /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs is in the

list. You can also try -Dparse-file to see exactly what files are being read.

Also, try asking it to load all mibs. Use '-m ALL' or put 'mibs ALL' in your

snmp.conf.

You are lost in a twisty maze of little standards, all different.
