hi,
i'm a complete newbie to net-snmp. i try to compile it since yesterday but there is always the same error:

make: *** No rule to make target 'winservicerc.lo', needed by 'libnetsnmp.la' . Stop.
make[1]: Leavingdirectory '/cygdrive/d/net-snmp/snmplib'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 1

Cygwin does not define WIN32. What is your configure line?

I use win 2003 server, snmp 5.1.3.1, activestate perl and cygwin current release with cygwin regex installed.

could it be related with this warning?

configure: WARNING: winsock.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: section "Present but Cannot be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: in te future , the compiler will take precedence

any thougts? please help me

This should not hurt anything. I have not upgraded my Cygwin or tried to compile with it in quite some time but I will give it a shot and see what I can come up with.

Regards,
Andy
