I would also opt for this solution. So libnetsnmp.so.5 would be 5.0.x and
5.1.x (there is no known incompatibility between those two versions and
they are depreciated anyways).

libnetsnmp.so.5.2 would be 5.2.x (x>1) and libnetsnmp.so.5.3 would be
5.3.x, etc.
