Well, I was assuming that I'd have a week or two before attention
turned from 5.2.2 to 5.3.

Probably, yes.
Adding basic (single-value) Threshold triggers was this morning's
train journey's task - that's now in place and seems OK.   It'll
be a few days before I can tackle Delta-based sample values, and
the delta-based threshold tests.   But that should be done sometime
next week,

My current inclination is not to support delta-based thresholds
on delta-based sample values.  That's just Too Wierd For Words :-)

Then it's mostly cleaning up round the edges (error handling, the
scalar group, all the bits marked XXX in the current code, ... )
I need *something* to get me through the start of the academic year!
