I thought there was a general agreement over "{something}.preN", but with various opinions about what the "{something}" should be? I'd also thought that we'd agreed on "5.2.2.pre4", though nothing seemed to happen wrt that. But the main reason for dropping down from rc-status was the difficulty over snmpnetstat licensing. That should now have been resolved (assuming my re-write is generally acceptable - and I haven't heard anything to the contrary). So we really ought to be back at rc-status again, with the intention of getting this out ASAP. As far as the 5.3 stuff is concerned, I may have got the wrong idea. You seemed to be talking about breaking backwards compatibility, and moving things from one library to another. That felt more than simply fixing bugs, which is why I queried it.
