I think this is what finally got applied to MAIN (*only*), see attached.
I recently suffered from this behaviour as well and tend to agree with
darix that it's unacceptable (aka a bug) that there's no way to turn
this connection logging off at runtime in *any* (non-MAIN) branch.
So I'd strongly vote to fix this bug in 5.3.x (and earlier) also.
Backporting the existing patch may be the easiest option. Objections?
