If you try the same experiment with the Net-SNMP
agent and utilities, do you see the same symptoms,
or does it work as expected?

Please note that development work on the ucd-snmp
code effectively finished several years ago. We have
recently issued the final release of the ucd-snmp suite,
and this line has now been closed down.

We would strongly encourage you to switch to a more
modern (and actively maintained) branch. Preferably
Net-SNMP v5.4
