OK - so the next question is what to leave in situ.
I propose that:
- /tags should contain the "Ext-{something}" checkpoints
for all full releases (and nothing else).
- /branches should contain the "V[45]-{X}-patches" lines
(and nothing else)
Is that OK? Or would you want anything else left there?
With the other tags and branches ("historic"), would you wish
to keep a distinction between those that used to be tags,
and those that used to be branches? Or would it be OK to
move all of these into a single "historic" tree?
