After configuring the master agent the following library files exist in the
"/usr/local/lib" directory:
libnetsnmp.a
libnetsnmp.la
libnetsnmp.so
libnetsnmp.so.15
libnetsnmp.so.15.0.0
libnetsnmpagent.a
libnetsnmpagent.la
libnetsnmpagent.so
libnetsnmpagent.so.15
libnetsnmpagent.so.15.0.0
libnetsnmphelpers.a
libnetsnmphelpers.la
libnetsnmphelpers.so
libnetsnmphelpers.so.15
libnetsnmphelpers.so.15.0.0
libnetsnmpmibs.a
libnetsnmpmibs.la
libnetsnmpmibs.so
libnetsnmpmibs.so.15
libnetsnmpmibs.so.15.0.0
libnetsnmptrapd.a
libnetsnmptrapd.la
libnetsnmptrapd.so
libnetsnmptrapd.so.15
libnetsnmptrapd.so.15.0.0
You will notice there are 5 files for each library type
(a/la/so/so.15/so.15.0.0). If I need a certain library type to run the master
agent on our hardware box, then does this mean I am going to need all 5 of
these files wich are related to the same library type? Or perhaps I will only
need the "so.15" or something?
Basically, are all set's of 5 files required to be present in order fo that
library to be loaded successfully or are these truely independant library files?
How can I determine which ones I need? Trial and error and see which subset of
these files allow my master agent and subagent to load?
Any insight here would be aprpeciated. Obviously not using some of these
library files will conserve space of our hardware box.
Thanks
