Yes, I clicked on the wrong link.    However, you are correct about me needing 
to learn about Linux.    I am pretty much new to this environment and have been 
given the task of learning it as well as integrating NetSNMP into it ..... it 
has not been easy for me, but I keep learning things every day. 

I do not mean to be a nuisance.

You know, I'm starting to get a little tired of being expected
to do your thinking for you.

   Please take a *proper* look at the project download pages,
and consider the possible distinction between "net-snmp"
(i.e. source distributions) and "net-snmp binaries".

I would also suggest that you spend a little time learning
about the fundamentals of the environments that you are
working with.   RPM files are not exactly uncommon in the
Linux world!
