The group name and view name are limited to 32 characters.
See the definitions of these objects in the SNMP-VIEW-BASED-ACM-MIB.

I don't believe that the username and community string are restricted
directly,  but the "securityName" (which they are both mapped to) is also
maximum 32 characters.   (See the same MIB)

So it doesn't surprise me if things struggle with longer usernames and
community strings.
