You've not really told us anything about the platform your working on.
(Linux, Unix, OS/2 ... etc) And it's obvious that you haven't even read the
FAQ or INSTALL file that comes with the source.

experience in running it on a desktop linux system first. Any SNMP manager
should be able to connect to it.
Hopefully you'll have a better idea on what to after that,
