Sigh, this is a problem in your end.

Try

host net-snmp.git.sourceforge.net

If that succeeds then try the ping and the clone once more, otherwise
try

host net-snmp.git.sourceforge.net 8.8.8.8

If that succeeds then you have to figure out why the nameserver in
your /etc/resolv.conf (probably provided by your ISP) fails to look up
our address, but it is not something that we can fix.
