The 5.8 release will have support for SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512, which supports RFC7860 where the support for them is defined for the SNMP protocol. > There is no support for an encryption algorithm better than AES-128 > 2. Net-SNMP tends to implement the define standards for SNMP and we don't extend much upon that. There is no standardized definition for encryption protocols for USM other than the ones we offer. Instead, if you want higher forms of security you might consider switching from the USM security model to the (d)TLS ones, which allow for negotiated cryptography suites like TLS normally does. Net-SNMP has supported (and was the first to support) the TLS mechanisms defined in RFC 6353. See http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/TUT:Using_TLS for some documentation to help get started using it. -- Wes Hardaker Please mail all replies to net-snmp-coders@lists.sourceforge.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-coders mailing list Net-snmp-coders@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-coders
