A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing in e-mail?
Regarding the contents of your message: I have not looked at the code
your URL points at. But I think there are two possibilities:
1. Either the Fedora Net-SNMP repository is identical to the current or
a previous version of the official Net-SNMP repository.
2. Or the Fedora Net-SNMP repository contains patches that are not in
the upstream Net-SNMP repository.
In case (1) you should have pointed at the official Net-SNMP repository
instead of the Fedora repository. Regarding (2): is the policy of Red
Hat still to send patches upstream first because integrating these into
a Red Hat repository
(https://opensource.com/article/16/12/why-red-hat-takes-upstream-first-approach)?
If so, have the people who are contributing to the Fedora Net-SNMP
repository tried to submit their patches to the official Net-SNMP project?
Bart.
