whether do I need a snmp proxy agent or agent?

I have an apparatus. which have two OSes installed in two separate 
elements, one is Linux another is vxworks.from outside,the SNMP app can 
only access the linux's ip,but I want to configure & manage the Vxworks 
element.I think I should have the Linux one to be SNMP proxy agent and the 
vxworks one to be an agent. is it right? thanks for any suggestion.
