Hello,
If you are implementing the master-sub agent architecture (in the case
of net-snmp it is agentx based) then the master agent should run at the
ipaddress which is accessible to the outside world.

So the master agent will be on the linux m/c and the sub-agent on the
vxworks m/c.

Rgds,
Viren

Subject: whether do I need a snmp proxy agent or agent?

I have an apparatus. which have two OSes installed in two separate
elements, one is Linux another is vxworks.from outside, the SNMP app can
only access the linux's ip,but I want to configure & manage the Vxworks
element.I think I should have the Linux one to be SNMP proxy agent and
the
vxworks one to be an agent. is it right? thanks for any suggestion.
