> On my Personal Computer, based Pentium M, I have installed a RedHat Linux.
Which release of RedHat? That's probably more relevant than the kernel version. > Packages rpm automatically installed are : > net-snmp-devel-5.0.8-11 > net-snmp-5.0.8-11 > net-snmp-utils-5.0.8-11 RedHat splits the Net-SNMP suite up into three "sub-packages" (as listed). We just provide a single bundle containing everything. So the individual RPMs on the project download page are equivalent to the three RPMs you list. > Question 1 : I was not able to identify the exact name(s) of the dowload > file(s) from your web site neither for such packages nor for v5.0.9 On the page http://www.net-snmp.org/download, there are section headings "5.1.1 binaries" and "5.0.9 binaries" containing: net-snmp-5.1.1-1.rh72.i386.rpm net-snmp-5.1.1-1.rh9.i686.rpm and net-snmp-5.0.9-4.rh73.i386.rpm net-snmp-5.0.9-4.rh9.i386.rpm respectively. Just choose the version that's appropriate for your RedHat release. > Question 2 : Do I need "ucd" package ? No - the UCD package(s) are the previous incarnation of the Net-SNMP code. The development went UCD v3 -> UCD v4 -> Net-SNMP v5 So if you're working with the Net-SNMP suite, then the UCD code is effectively obsolete.
