Some of the complex Sun hardware like the e10k and
Sunfire use the default sun snmpd daemon called snmpdx
to keep track of board level issues on 'domains' ,
etc, so swapping out snmpdx with netsnmp snmpd is not
a good option. Making netsnmp run as a subagent of
snmpdx is an excellent choice and has worked well on
the aforementioned platforms with Solaris 2.6,7 and 8.
On solaris 9 however, creating the reg files to enable
subagency causes snmpdx and netsnmp snmpd NOT to work.
Has anyone tackled this scanario ? netsnmp snmpd runs
fine on the solaris 9 box on its own. Perhaps there is
something new about solaris 9's snmpdx ?
Thanks
