You need gcc, which I believe comes with every mac, but on a separate cd, and
is not installed by default. It is also available for free (registration
required) from Apple:

        http://developer.apple.com/tools/macosxtools.html

As of 5.1.2, I'm not aware of any OS X specific problems with net-snmp.
