Here's what I'm doing: - writing a createUser directive to /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf - Poking the reconfig bit in the agent's MIB - Finding that the user hasn't been created (apparently, the persistent file isn't processed when recofiguration is done). - Yanking power on the agent's system - Powering up the agent's system - Finding that the createUser directive has been replaced by a usmUser directive and the user is active. > CRC> If re-writing the persistent file is deemed useful, I might do > it and send > CRC> a patch. As noted on another thread, I'm also having trouble with the fact that the persistent file changes ownership and mode when it's rewritten.
