My mibs are also located at /home/lejanson.

Please rather use
MIBDIRS=/usr/share/snmp/mibs:$HOME/mibs
(please carefully note the two differences). Also, that shell variable needs
to be exported ("export" in sh syntax, "setenv" in csh), of course.
