Hi Laurie.

Hi,
Can someone confirm that the current version does not allow SNMP traps to be handled both by net-snmp and the windows snmptrap.exe service?
From what I've seen it appears that which ever process stars first opens port 162 exclusively.
Is that what the 'pass through' development will be about?

You can not run two programs that listen on the same port number at the same time.

It is possible to run two version of the agent at the same time by following the instructions in the 'CO-EXISTENCE WITH MICROSOFT SNMP SERVICES' section of the win32\dist\readme.txt file. You should be able to do the same thing with snmptrapd. You could leave snmptrapd on the default port and configure Microsoft's snmptrap service to listen on a different port number. You would then need to configure snmptrapd to forward the traps you want to forward to the Microsoft trap receiver on the other port.
