I am aware of the fact that support for the various MIBs differs from OS
to OS. That's a big part of my problem. My boss says "It works on
Solaris, so it *must* work on Linux." Since SolarWinds does not tell us
what OIDs are being read, it is difficult to determine where the problem
is.

The issue is that we are seeing values in the SolarWinds database for a
Linux machine that do not match what top or vmstat are saying. "Since it
works on Solaris, it has to be the Linux agent". :-(

My boss is basically saying somehow the SNMP agent is writing to some
OID somewhere on the system, and it is my job to figure out exactly
where (i.e. which OID). I have had a call open with SolarWinds for two
days now and they are still not able to tell me what OIDs are being used
(despite paying $10,000 for it).

Ya just gotta love proprietary software!
