I was thinking that I could start a new snmpd for each virtual interface (using snmpd virtualip:161). This works but my agentx subagent will only respond to a query on one ip (the last one started I guess). Is there a way to register a subagent (or handler function in my current subagent) to a certain copy of snmpd that is running?
Sure. Use the "-x" command-line option or the "agentxsocket" config token. See the snmpd(8) and snmpd.conf(5) man pages for details.
