Hi,

As a start thanks Dave for immediately answering my last question!

I am still trying to create a small MIB module by using the: A simple scalar attached to a variable-example from the net-snmp-homepage.

I’ve tried working myself trough the checklist given in the FAQ entry.

The new modules are being compiled!

What exactly is meant by Run `nm` on the library?

In the example I mentioned earlier debugging code has been already included.

Therefore I ran the deamon: /usr/local/sbin/snmpd –Dscalar_int

The result was:

  No log handling enable – turning on stderr logging

  Registered debug token scalar_int, 1

  root:/# scalar_int: Done initializing example scalar int

  Turning on AgentX master support.

  snmpd: send_trap: Cannot send V1 PDU on V2session

I still don’t know if the defined MIB has been loaded properly. Hence, I tried to load in all the MIB files:

   snmpget -m ALL -c public localhost 1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.2.1.1.0

had no influence on the result:

   iso.3.6.1.4.1.8072.2.1.1.0=No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

Trying to walk the NET-SNMP-MIB::nsModuleTable:

snmpget -m ALL -c public localhost NET-SNMP-MIB::nsModuleTable

led to the output:

   Cannot find module (NET-SNMP-MIB):At line 1 in (none)

   Unknown Object Identifier

Any solutions, comments or suggestions what I could have done wrong would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Timm
