All,

I've been searching through the docs and lists and have seen references
to the rewrite of a number of MIBs in 5.4 that would allow the cache
timeouts to be tweaked. Never with an actual example though ;-)
In my case, the IF-MIB, IP-FORWARDING and IP-MIB really need to be as
near real-time as possible and the cacheing is killing that. I haven't
found a way (yet?) to dynamically alter this, if there is one and
someone knows about it please share.
If there isn't one I'd like to know which CACHE_TIMEOUTS and perhaps
other values I'd need to change in the net-snmp source files. THe source
dir is littered with references to CACHE_TIMEOUTS, some seem to be
actual timeouts, some flags. Just changing the IFTABLE_CACHE_TIMEOUT to
1 (for 1 second) and recompiling does absolutely nothing for me, so
there's more there than meets the eye to change the cacheing behaviour.
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Erik
