I removed this entry, no difference. Here is my finding:

If I use

smuxpeer .1.3.6.1.4.1.3317.1.3.1 password

Authentication fails

If I use

smuxpeer .1.3.6.1.4.1.3317.1.3.1

Authentication works and I see the following when I do 
snmpwalk  -c public  -v 2c   localhost 1.3.6.1.2.1.67.2.1.1.1.5
Timeout: No Response from localhost

Received 46 bytes from UDP: [127.0.0.1]:32792
