On my embedded Linux system, it appears that ifTable gets populated from the contents of file /proc/net/dev. At least it seems to correspond to the rows I walk from my 5.4.1 agent.
How does the agent determine the state of ifAdminStatus and ifOperStatus? Is there another /proc file that reflects the state of these interfaces, not simply their existence? I'm digging into the IF-MIB code down in agent/mibgroup/if-mib but it isn't completely clear to me yet. Any pointers on navigating this MIB implementation are welcome.
