Hello All,
I have installed cacti (Version 0.8.7h ) to use in our IPV6 enviroment. I
am using this(net-snmp-5.3.2.2-14.el5_7.1) version of net-snmp. The problem
is this that net-snmp is detecting my ipv6 based windows and linux
machines. but it is not detecting my CISCO routers and switches.
For example:
For Windows Machine: (it is giving correct output)
*[root@localhost ~]# snmpstatus -v2c -c public udp6:[24xx:fxxx:xx::9]:161
sysdesc
[UDP/IPv6: [24xx:fxxx:xx::9]:161]=>[Hardware: x86 Family 6 Model 23
Stepping 10 AT/AT COMPATIBLE - Software: Windows Version 6.1 (Build 7600
Multiprocessor Free)] Up: 1 day, 5:01:27.73 Interfaces: 49, Recv/Trans
packets: 5097819/5227700 | IP: 3331416/4884047 25 interfaces are down!
*
But for CISCO Router it always gives this error:
*[root@localhost ~]# snmpstatus -v2c -c PxxTC
udp6:[24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2]:161
Timeout: No Response from udp6:[24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2]:161
[root@localhost ~]#
[root@localhost ~]# snmpstatus -v2c -c PxxTC
udp6:[24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2]:161
Timeout: No Response from udp6:[24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2]:161
*
Though i can ping Router's IP(24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2) from my nms machine.
*[root@localhost ~]# ping6 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2
PING 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2(24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2) 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=1.23 ms
64 bytes from 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=62 time=0.932 ms
64 bytes from 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=62 time=1.10 ms
64 bytes from 24xx:fcxx:8xxx:2xx::2: icmp_seq=3 ttl=62 time=1.23 ms
*
So why i am not able to get snmp results of my cisco router.
Please help in this regard.
