Hiya,
It's really great to hear from you all about this. THANK YOU!
Helen and Edward - your specific feedback concerning the missing "get
involved" is helpful/spot on. We /ARE/ on it - it just make take a while
to get it right.
Some explanation...
We have been in the fiery forge of organisational development for the
last 18 months - to work out whether and how to continue, and to what
end:) We have been working with lots of different kinds of people - all
of whom have different perspectives on the value and viability of
Furtherfield. It's almost impossible to share this process with you
properly on Netbehaviour- although it would be supercool if we could. We
may be able to say more about this over the next few months if people
are interested. Or else just cry out when things feel wrong - or right :)

Hiya,
With all the other things going on at Furtherfield & in our own
lives, it's pretty amazing we got this far ;-)
However, yes - of course. We begin shaping things up as we go along.
Currently one of the massive issues is transferring all the archives
over to the new server. Which is going to take while because it
involves manual work and not just batch processing.
wishing you well

I've got to say my first reaction was much like Helen's. 'How do you
find your way from here to the NetBehaviour site?' was the first
thing that came into my head. 'How do you get involved?' was the
second. But like Helen, I expect that all this is coming; and in the
meantime, it does look great. I expect it's much more
mobile-friendly than the old site, too. It certainly seems to resize
very nicely if you drag the screen smaller.

you have defnitely succeeded in making the gallery, lab & debate
programmes more accessible. i confess that i was a little bit
shocked by the absence of so much from the old site. i miss the
explicit invitation to get involved, the invitation to comment on
articles, i miss the visibility of the extended community (blog,
profiles, calendar), i miss rosalind, i miss the search function ...
maybe all or some of this is coming? (i see that there are "coming
soon" placeholders for visitorsstudio & furthernoise).
i'm quite happy to be told to be patient ;) i'm happy to know the
old site is still accessible at least for now (migration will
indeed be a tedious job ...) & i'm also happy to be reminded that
websites are - like performance - ephemeral & transient & mutating
spaces ...

Thanks everyone for the positive vibes about the site : )
Our intention is to make our gallery, lab and debate programmes
more accessible to people who are not already in the know. But it
is a real work in progress.
The old site is still at archive.furtherfield.org
We are slowly slowly migrating content.
It's a bit of a question really - however to manage it all!
We may see if we can get it properly archived.
Shout out to Kate Lomax (for the build and design) and Lauren
Angelov Cummings (for content migration)
Warmly
