Hi Marc, I'm still using Linux on my desktop at home daily.
I'm currently giving Manjaro Linux a try. I used Arch Linux (btw) for maybe ten years or something, but a few years ago realized I no longer had the time and energy for hands on system admin. With Arch, I found quite often after updating the system I needed to do this or that to ensure my configuration remained, and I'd lost track and interest in doing so. I tried Fedora for a couple of years or so. It was okay but there were some aspects of Arch which I missed, such as the rolling release, and the package manager. That's why I decided to move to using Manjaro Linux, it's an Arch based distro, but the Manjaro devs configure a working system so it's much less hands-on than Arch and you get a working system up quickly. Mint uses Cinammon desktop IIRC, which is what I've been using for several years now too, it's nice easy and familiar. Manjaro doesn't get a lot of respect from Linux techies, they'd suggest EndeavourOS. Apparently the Manjaro devs made some mistakes at some point, the devils :-D On Wed, 29 Oct 2025 at 21:43, marc.garrett via NetBehaviour < [email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm using Mint Linux for my main desktop and laptop. > > Is anyone else using Linux, if so, what OS and why? > > Wishing you well. > > Marc > _______________________________________________ > NetBehaviour mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour >
