The aim with MUTEK has always been to look forward, to imagine a future - in all its implications - where technology is the driving engine of aesthetic advancement. Back in 2000, this vision was an tangential subsection to many people, an obscurity relegated to the fringes of the avant-garde arts. Nine years later, digital technology is the driving engine of creativity at all levels. MUTEK 2008 has attempted to reflect the eclecticism and opportunity of this shift, with a program that is more diverse than ever before.
