Associative Array
Associative Array is a project that combines elements of map art with
microfiction, poetry and personal essay. We treat the city of Chicago as a
component in a memory device, a kind of hard drive. At a given location in
the city, the reader will find a code. That code will give the reader
access to a text associated with the code. The code, therefore, functions
as an address.
Ultimately there will be a map for the project posted online. The map will
give the reader the locations where they can find the codes. Once the
reader has retrieved the code, they submit it and the corresponding text
will be emailed to them.
