Hello all,

A warm welcome to all those who have recently subscribed to the list.

For those people who are new to the DIWO Mail Art experience here are
some guidelines for engagement.
Please feel free to ignore them and do what you like : )

Eight principals from UNCIVILISATION the DARK MOUNTAIN manifesto can be
found here http://www.dark-mountain.net/about-2/principles/

Have a read and respond with MAIL ART- that's art that you can send: -
explore, discuss, resist, promote, illustrate, or intervene.

BY EMAIL

1. Your missive/contribution/intervention could use any of the following
formats: -
- texts (arguments, poetry, instructions, conversations, calls to act)
- images
- sound
- html
- links to webpages, video, software, artworks, anything else you can
think of

There is a file size limit of 250k so that people without access to high
bandwidth can still get involved.

2. It's completely up to you how you get involved. In the last DIWO
project people got involved in a range of ways including: -
- posting individual streams of consciousness in the form of images,
texts, sounds, videos, web links
- appropriating, remixing, collaging of other's materials/ideas and then
reposting them to the list
- processing these materials through other online platforms and social
software and then reposting them to the list
- provoking and joining debates and controversies
- posting instructions, proposals for collective action
- posting suggestions for collective Snail Mail Art
- lurking, doing and saying nothing.

3. You may want to use DIWO in the Subject header - to flag it up as
part of the project.
