Marc -

I expect you could find out by submitting a Freedom of Information inquiry.

I suppose our beef should be with BP, not the Tate. The Tate haven't caused an
oil spillage, and would probably argue that all their sponsorship arrangements
were in place long before the disaster occurred, and to suddenly turn away or
send back BP money at this stage would be incredibly difficult logistically,
with unfortunate knock-on consequences for lots of individual artists and
artistic groups. I note that Rhizome, for example, are involved in "No Soul for
Sale". On the other hand, it would be interesting to know if The Tate has an
ethical sponsorship policy, and if so where it draws the line between ethical
and non-ethical sources of finance. If they have one, and they've unfortunately
drawn the line in the wrong place, that's one thing: if they don't have such a
policy at all, that's another.
