Hi all,

That's a wise tip Alan. Perhaps more than any other medium, email can
get under the skin because there's a lot of space for projection. I'm
guilty of it too, and like you when it happens, it's somehow good take
a break from the computer to relativise things.

Also messages on a list go out to everyone, not just the person being
addressed, and that's important to keep in mind. To be honest,
somewhere along the line I could no longer keep up with the flame
passing back and forth recently; I simply lost what had merited that
much rage and personal insults. But all of this has made me reflect
on why I stay on this list while I've abandoned so many others, and
it's precisely because of people like the Karens, Ruth, Alan, Marc,
MANIK, Simon and the many other fantastically idiosyncratic people who
post their work and thoughts for others to engage in. I guess it's
this engagement, over enragement, that keeps me tuned in ;-)

wishing everyone well on the list,

Renee
