it would be really interesting to try this! please send it to me off-list - i don't know whether we can put it onto the UpStage server (because of the various other things running on it) but i will find out, & if not we can find somewhere else to try it.

ps "My" interface for my web performances could do this - it would have to be adapted a bit. It is made with a red5 installed on the servers of x-resaux and uses a flashplayer. Estelle Senay of x-resaux who made it for me will give the code to anyone who would like to install the soft on their own servers.

This is a very good idea - we, you, me, they could start distant
reading clubs, watching events, discussions etc.
Please do develop that Helen, great.
    UpStage for ever!

        hi roger,
i've been looking into ways to stream a recording (audio
        visual) with
both text & an audio-visual chat options alongside it - we
        have been
thinking about something like this for having "screenings" of
        UpStage
show recordings, where the artists can talk about the work &
        people can
ask questions etc as everyone is watching the recording together.

        so far i haven't found a good solution for it - i've
        experimented with
some cobbled-together interfaces using various streaming &
        chatting
tools, but nothing has worked well enough yet to actually try
        it out. it
is something that we may build into the new UpStage that we're
        working on.

let's talk more about it & see what we can come up with :)
