Hiyas,

Yes, I agree, Ruth.

Perhaps it might be sort of interesting to get the space to have a sort of
negotiation with relevant communities of artists?

It feel, from this and a few other conversations/threads that a fair few
people feel like these space guys are on a spectrum of slightly bullish in
a china-shop through to good-will-ignorance..
There are a fair few spaces, some opening up as we speak, that inspite of
Not getting public funds, are trying to support and Be, similar kind of
organisms as the space. (..in fact, being relatively high powered and well
off, the space Can play a linking role there, I think..)
There are artists that feel like somehow ironically the space excludes
them despite claiming not to want to - however some ignorance of the
subject seems to prevail..
The way the space seems to phrase the call + above apparent behaviour,
raises suspicion that its perpetrators might fancy promoting a certain
power-ideolog of a digital artistic cannon which represents in itself the
sort of drive/strand a fair few established and un-established
practitioners in these particular artistic areas that link with the
digital, spent life times to oppose/challenge/question..

Well.. Perhaps am wrong, but seems like because these guys Say they want
to be positively involved, and because they will spread some substantial
funds, If such questions, and others were to be elements in a process of
the space living within the arts community as an evolving - rather than
alienating - member, it might be an idea to consider ways of negotiative
introductions..?

Hey.. Have fun!

Hi All!

Yes, I know there are many problems. And it's vital to point at them.

I posted this call here because I would very much like it to attract some
proposals for excellent critical work.

The Space will attract a lot attention and has a large investment of money
and attention from two huge British cultural institutions. I fear that
there exists a significant knowledge gap (which is depressing and
disappointing) about the many strands and decades of electrifyingly good
work (art practice, theory and politics) in digital contexts.

It needs to be hacked into it (culturally) to make it work for us.

Don't know quite what that looks like yet but...

BOING!
Ruth

emerged in the history of clueless self-indulgence. Rocket's latest
project is the experimental artsphere Place, a multimillion-pound
creative enablement hive, which comprises studios, galleries,
minglespace, thoughtcupboards, flotation melds and an Eric Clapton

wishes to explore an idea to its full potential (especially if they
also declare a need to do this in the foetal position, sustained by
empowering wafts of Amazonian oxygen and the jarred farts of
Krishnamurti), and might as well be replaced by a gigantic furnace that
Rocket can shovel skyscraping piles of banknotes into with spectral,
uncomprehending joy in his eyes.
